All change at St Andrews Primary School, Cobham

St Andrews School Cobham. AV Danzer. Danzer. AV Group.

We are delighted with the new shower and changing room facility we have provided for St. Andrews Primary School in Cobham.

The school approached AV Danzer to design a stand-alone facility which could sit adjacent to its swimming pool which is located at the side of the playing fields. We suggested a highly cost-effective solution using our OpenSpace product which could also be delivered quickly to meet their tight time frame.

The children had previously had to change in the school building before walking across the playground to join their swimming lesson. The new facility would allow them to change and shower immediately next to the swimming pool.

Delivery of the new changing rooms meant that the school could replace its existing facility within the main school building, allowing them to re-utilise this space for other teaching purposes.

In order to site the new building we undertook external ground works which included preparing foundations, trenching, re-surfacing and fencing.

However, as is often the case, the installation was less than straight forward because the swimming pool was located to the rear of the main school complex and the approach was along residential roads.

But, as ever we made sure that we found a solution! We installed 85 metres of trackway across the grass playing fields and playground which allowed us to rig the 80 tonne crane which would lift the 40ft span modules into place.

To ensure we caused the minimum of disruption to residents we undertook a letter drop to all neighbours as well as putting in place temporary parking suspensions. This allowed the articulated lorries to manoeuvre along the network of residential roads and access the site and the installation went ahead without a hitch.

School bursar Joy Taylor commented; “Everyone is really very impressed with the new building and we are making good use of it today, thanks to AV Danzer for getting it all done as scheduled.”

Manchester’s prestigious Circle Square development

AV Danzer, AV Group, Danzer, Circle Square Manchester

AV Danzer continues to support Wates Construction this time working with them on one of Manchester’s most high profile, city centre regeneration projects.

Wates has been appointed by JV partners Bruntwood and Select Property Group on the £55m first phase of Circle Square, the name given to the re-development of the iconic BBC site on Oxford Road.

AV Danzer has delivered and installed thirty-six 9.7m x 3m units which have been end-linked and triple stacked and will provide contractor accommodation over the next couple of years.

We have spray-painted the units in Wates’ corporate colours and they will provide high quality relaxation areas, canteen, toilets, changing and wash room facilities for the people working across the site.

Construction has now begun on phase 1A of the £750m Oxford Road mixed-use development which will offer office, retail, serviced apartments and flats.

The initial phase will see the development of two buildings, one 12-storey, the second from 13 to 17 storeys, which will provide 600 serviced flats with some retail and start-up commercial space at ground and mezzanine floor. There will also be new public realm space, including walkways along the River Medlock.

Once complete the 2.3m sq ft neighbourhood will include residential, commercial and public space amenities as well as shops. It will be delivered in five phases and is due to complete in 2025.
