The strength of Danzer’s current order book certainly supports recent figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) that the house-building industry continues to go from strength to strength despite concerns around the recent general election.

ONS figures for March showed that average house prices are rising, growing 9.76% and achieving a year-on-year figure of £273,000. Scotland reported and annual growth of nearly 15%.

The Council of Mortgage Lenders also says approvals for home loans are beginning to pick up after a quiet beginning to the year with buyer confidence boosted by lower stamp duty, rising employment, pay increases and falling inflation.

It is certainly a trend which is evidenced in the orders we are receiving from housebuilders. In the last 12 months we have delivered 190 steel site accommodation units to Taylor Wimpey, one of the country’s leading house builders, a long standing and much valued client of Danzer Limited. Our welfare units are on 35 of their development sites across the country.

Each unit is manufactured in line with Taylor Wimpey’s strict environmental sustainability specification which ensures that every development has the minimum environmental impact. Taylor Wimpey measures the greenhouse gas impact of all of its developments, including its supply chain, and is working with the Carbon Trust to develop an even more detailed strategy to monitor, measure and manage its carbon emissions and report each year on its performance. We are delighted to be working with them to help achieve that goal.

With further orders for steel units from a wide range of other housebuilders also on our books our production facility is again working at capacity, despite expanding just six months ago. To accommodate the surge in business we are growing the team and recruiting for a number of roles (click here to read more about available jobs). Further investment into the production plant including new steel press and guillotine is also likely in the near future.

Order book value for steel units waiting to be built stands at £1.15m and modular sales also continue to soar so we are looking forward to a busy summer ahead !
