NHBC reports highest number of detached homes in a decade, as housing registrations rise again in 2014

AV Group’s orders from housebuilders continue to look strong in January and February reflecting a national trend for building new homes and social housing. According to new figures from NHBC housebuilders are building the highest number of detached homes for a decade – more than during the peak of the property boom in 2007.

The report showed that last year there was a sharp 24% increase in the numbers of detached houses registered with NHBC from 30,849 in 2013 to 38,113 in 2014 with growth particularly marked in the regions.

Areas such as Yorkshire and Humber (+24%) and the West Midlands (+16%) saw big increases. Across the UK, Wales (+33%), Scotland (+9%) and Northern Ireland (+17%) all saw registrations out-stripping last year’s volumes.

AV Group’s order book remains strong with regular orders from many of the UK’s leading housebuilder clients including Barratt, David Wilson Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Radleigh Homes who use our steel anti-vandal cabins on development sites across the country. In addition we have also recently delivered site accommodation units for Wates Living Spavce whihc is developing social housing in Hull.

New orders have also come from clients including Pevril Homes, Croudace Construction and Higgins Construction and we are delighted that our new steel production facility is helping us to keep up with the stream of orders coming in!
