Many years ago one of our rental cabins was leased to a company in Croydon where it remained slowly growing old and if we are honest starting to look a little bit jaded.
However, we received a call from Boyd Hill at The Signal Project who asked if he might take the unit under his wing for a fantastic community art project.
The Signal Project is a professional street art organisation that develops and manages community art projects which aim to create exceptional public artworks of a global standard.
We were delighted to help Boyd by donating the store and leading South African graffiti artist Falko 1 was given the challenge to spray paint the Container which was relocated to the local Notre Dame Estate. Falko 1 is globally recognized as one of the art forms leading exponents and he soon turned our plain blue unit into a remarkable piece of art featuring one of his trademark elephants. His work is exceptional and you can see more of it here on his Facebook page.
The story of the unit’s remarkable transformation can be viewed on this blog
We are really excited by the work The Signal Group is doing to engage young people and residents in Clapham area and I’m sure you will agree that the finished result looks amazing.
The local residents were also delighted with the result and @Falko1’s elephant now take pride of place in the community.
