At the beginning of March, the Mayor of Tees Valley broke ground on a £200million logistics and manufacturing park at Teesside International Airport. 3.4million square feet of logistics, manufacturing and commercial space will be built on 270 acres of land at the southside of the airport. Once complete it is expected that 4,400 new jobs will be created and £3million per year will be re-invested into the airport.
This major development is a joint venture between Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority and Teesside International Airport.
AVDanzer has supplied portable modular buildings to Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority and Teesside International Airport to provide welfare facilities for the contractors who are working on this prestigious development. A two storey complex of twelve 32’x10’ portable modular buildings accommodates a canteen, drying room, toilets and shower facilities. In addition, there are meeting rooms, offices and a viewing platform affording views across the new development and airport.
AVDanzers’ experienced team of hauliers, site installers and electricians delivered, installed and fitted out this complex installation in just five days, ensuring everything was in place for the ground breaking ceremony on 2nd March. As the units were delivered airside to a busy, working airport special insurance was required, so our hauliers worked under Teesside Airport’s insurance.
Delivery and installation had to be carried out in-between flights landing and taking off, as no disruption to the working of the airport was permitted.
It is expected that these portable modular buildings will be on hire at Teesside International Airport for at least two years and has a contract value of £120k.
