AVDanzer was chosen to design, supply, install and commission this new single storey nursery unit for 26 children plus staff.
The tender also included associated services, ground works, additional car parking and external storage. In total the 7 modular units provide a spacious floor area of 211.20m2 incorporating activity rooms, baby change and sleep room facilities, kitchen, laundry, office, WC and staff room.
The building is finished off with external platisol steel cladding, whilst features such as double glazing, fire retardant boarding and powder coated aluminium windows ensure all current Building Regulations and DDA requirements are met.
AVDanzer worked closely with the school to ensure that delivery of the modules and other works did not interfere with the school’s day to day activities. The whole scheme was completed within 16 weeks, comfortably meeting the deadline and delivered within budget.
Building high quality, high specification modular buildings is what we do. Equipping them to meet the specific needs of our customers is what makes our buildings excellent. Tailored designs with a variety of internal and external finishes; one, two and three storey structures to optimise space; and a whole host of electronically controlled devices to improve the working environment. It all contributes to the enjoyment and functionality of a Linkpak commission.
And as the move towards carbon neutrality gathers more momentum, so we have added a range of environmentally friendly features to improve energy efficiency. With lower running costs, Linkpak becomes an even better choice when you’re looking for a practical building solution.

RADCLIFFE-ON-TRENT INFANT SCHOOL
At AVDanzer we continue to help build classrooms for the future and are delighted to have delivered two superb new facilities for schools in Nottinghamshire via Nottingham County Council. Radcliffe-on-Trent Infant School was looking for more space and so we built and delivered a 9 module unit to create a 9.4m x 25m classroom which will now be used by 90 nursery aged children.
CHARLES DICKENS SCHOOL
The build was part of a £750,000 commission by the London Borough of Southwark to provide new facilities for three London schools. Charles Dickens needed a fast solution to the problem of over subscription at the school and a modular building enabled construction to take place off site while preparatory work commenced on the ground, speeding up the overall process from procurement to completion by many weeks.
HARLAN LABORATORIES
We manufactured and delivered the units from our Langley Mill factory in Nottingham in four phases – supplying 16 modules with each phase. Our installation team handled the fitting of doors, trims and fixings on site, including making sure the exterior Steni Brick cladding lined up perfectly – a challenging task on a build of this scale. Fittings such as autoclaves, incubators and extraction facilities were installed by specialist companies.
MABEY, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
Our Linkpak NG modular product proved to be a great choice as it offers the ability to create open spaces at low costs and the whole building was built by us, here in the UK, delivered and installed for just £135,000. The project features five 12x3m Linkpak modules which together form the new building which provides 180 sq m of space. Linkpak’s flexibility has allowed us to design a low-cost, energy efficient building which provides an office space, meeting room, canteen and kitchen facilities, toilets and a drying room.
SHARDLOW
Featuring our LinkPak steel and timber modular product, no fewer than sixty four 33m x 48m modules make up this substantial building which will provide laboratory space for a food processing company. The building replaces one which had previously been fire damaged, was towards the end of its lifespan and was no longer fit for purpose.
MINSTER, THANET
The new units were constructed by our team at Langley Mill incorporating revisions to the structural specification as part of our continuing product development. They are finished in a London yellow brick and a grey/black slate tile to the site constructed pitch roof. The external finishes to the building complements other buildings at the school.

ASHWORTH SECURE HOSPITAL
Built for Merseycare NHS trust, this Linkpak building is a temporary solution whilst major refurbishment works were carried out at the hospital. There are 5 modules totalling size 8.7 x 15m. Incorporates a security reception, visitors search room with x-ray machine visitors waiting room, interview room, kitchen and toilet facilities. Extendable rain canopies, timber ramping and steps to main entrance, monopitch roof, Vulcan shiplap weatherboarding.
MAYFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL
Working in conjunction with the project managers E C Harris, we supplied our trademark Linkpak modular building providing a double classroom with WC facilities (156m2). There are 6 modules totalling size 8.7 x 18m. Two classrooms, storage, toilets and entrance lobby. Finished with Steni exterior cladding, suspended ceiling, upvc windows with curved heads, timber ramps and steps. The school were involved in the project every step of the way choosing all the finishes including the interior colour scheme even down to the toilet cubicles!
RAYNHAM MUSIC SCHOOL
This design and build project was supplied to the London Borough of Enfield at short notice, a last minute addition to their already very busy Summer school build programme. Danzer worked on the design and offered Enfield the specialist advice needed for such a building. Large windows allowed in as much natural light as possible, by adapting our module structure to allow over-sized windows. A vertical cedar clad boarding which blended in well with the Nursery farm next door. The installation met the clients programme, and was handed over within 6 weeks of order.
CARLTON SCHOOL
We’ve just put the finishing touches to our second modular build for Nottingham County Council, this time for Carlton Central Junior School. We used our new process of cold-formed steel (CFS) frame construction on this project, a process that provides an extended structural guarantee giving our modular classrooms a 60-year structural guarantee.
COSTOCK PRIMARY
An overall building height which is 4m required us to transport the units on articulated low loaders. As access on site was also tight, they were then transferred on to a rigid vehicle which travelled across a trackway which was put in place to protect the school grass. They were then lifted into their final position and commissioned for use with all services being fully connected.
CLAYHALL PAVILION
The AVDanzer team demolished the old pavilion building in mid-January and provided ground works and the construction of a raft foundation whilst the modular LinkPak buildings were manufactured off site. The new facility includes home and away changing rooms, showers and toilets as well as a new club house, storage space and a referees’ facility. During the winter months the pavilion building will be used by other sports teams in the area.
PARK HILL, SHEFFIELD
Danzer Group provided the project management suite for Urban Splash’s Park Hill development in Sheffield. Our modular building included toilet facilities and a staff canteen. Urban Splash wanted plenty of light in the building so we put in large windows all round and roof lights.
SOUTHWARK SCHOOLS
We’ve undertaken two more substantial school projects for the London Borough of Southwark in combined contracts worth over £300,000. The first was to build an additional classroom facility for Keyworth Primary School in Kennington to help the school to ease the pressure on pupil numbers.
