The Oil and Pipelines Agency is responsible for six Naval Oil Fuel Depots in the UK. A project to upgrade their existing fuel jetty at Torpoint in Cornwall, which is the facility to refuel all Naval ships which are stationed at the nearby Devonport Royal Dockyard, has been on-going over the last two years.
Following a tender process, AVDanzer Ltd were awarded the contract to design, build and install a portable modular building to provide additional accommodation for Oil and Pipelines Agency staff on site. With a project value of £120,000, the 3 module building provides 81m2 of accommodation comprising of a lobby, conference room, spacious office area, kitchen and toilet facilities.
The modules were constructed at our Nottingham manufacturing facility and were originally due to be transported to and installed at Torpoint in February 2020. However, Storms Dennis and Jorge, which battered the UK during this time, delayed the original installation date. We were finally able to deliver and install the building in March, however, by then the unprecedented Cornavirus pandemic was causing major disruption across the UK. Our Installation Team ensured that new Government Guidelines on social distancing were adhered to at all times during the install and were able to hand over the building to The Oil and Pipelines Agency at the end of March.
