We’re pleased to be on-site again for one of our long term clients, ISG. The company is building a housing scheme for Orbit Homes in the heart of Norwich, and AVDanzer’s units will be part of the project for the next 2-3 years.
The units are in place to provide welfare accommodation for contractors and sub-contractors, delivering a comprehensive array of facilities in what is a very small compound area.
The limited available space led us to develop a 3 storey solution in a variety of layouts – a ground floor with canteen, drying rooms, showers and WCs; the first floor features meeting rooms, training room and first aid room; the second floor provides further meeting areas, open plan offices and a kitchenette. We have also incorporated a viewing gantry on the first level which allows access and views across the site.
The St Anne’s Quarter site presented several access challenges. We’ve handled many similarly demanding installations in city centre locations, and in this case utilising a 70 tonne crane in a limited space presented a range of safety and practical considerations. But with careful planning and some lateral thinking, the operation itself went off without a hitch.
AVDanzer has worked with ISG on many projects in the past, and experience shows that a close partnership approach to working is a key factor in producing the best solution in the shortest time.
When complete, Orbit Homes’ St Anne’s Quarter development will comprise a range of residential apartments and commercial properties at the King Street location.
